How can it be the last month of 2022? December can become a hectic month for all of us with Christmas preparations, family and friends gathering, shopping, baking, wrapping and so on. Let us not lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas, it is also a time to pause, reflect and to give to others.
The EACC Women’s Board is continuing the tradition of collecting donations for The Family Justice Center clients who are victims of violence and relationship abuse. The Justice Center is setting up it’s very first Holiday Hope Shop and collecting donations to stock it. The clients will be able to choose holiday gifts for their children and family members. This shop will be completely free to clients, thanks to the generosity of donors like you! We will be accepting your new gift items until December 20th . Please bring to the clubhouse dining area near the Christmas tree. I have been told the needs have never been greater. Also needed and not listed are neutral color baby clothes, 3 months-4T and baby sleeper blankets. Our club members have always been generous, and I sincerely thank you.
Once again, our Women’s Board Mission Statement is to organize activities and events for all members and to contribute to the beautification and betterment of the club. I believe we fulfilled our mission this year and then some! Thanks to the hard work of our board members. You made 20022 a success! We decided to update all our Christmas Decorations this year and we hope you notice and enjoy them. Thank you, ladies, for all the time you have volunteered to make this possible. We look forward to our annual breakfast with Santa that is already sold out.
I was honored to be the Women’s Board President this year and I hope to serve in other capacities in the coming years. My husband Frank and I truly enjoy being members here. Our golf course I feel is the best in Western NY. Our members here are wonderful to know. David, Kevin, Brandon thank you for your help with our fundraiser golf tournament this past August “Horsing A Round” you all helped make it a success. Thank you to Chef Tom for lending your time and talent to the Cooking with Chef Tom series. The board is extremely grateful to Eric Kanner for helping us organize our events throughout the year. Eric, it has been a pleasure to work with you, Amanda, and your great staff. Thank you all! Also, thank you Sean Sullivan our Board of Directors President who made sure we shared some of the same visions and goals for our club. I hope this carries on in 2023 with the incoming Directors Board and Women’s Board.
Thank you to the entire remodeling Committee for your many hours you have dedicated. We can’t wait to see the finished results this spring.
Finally, I would like to thank the membership of EACC. It is your support that allows the Women’s Board to operate successfully. We have a great incoming Women’s Board for 2023 and Mary Kamien is our new president and I’m sure she will lead us through another great year. Thank you to this year’s women’s board members for all your dedication and hard work. Each of you were so awesome to work with and you made my role easier. I shall never forget you!
God Bless each and everyone of you with good health, joy in your hearts, and great golf. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Marlene Jurek, Women’s Board President 2022
