Happy New Year!
As we embark on this new year, my wish for everyone is good health, prosperity, and, of course, improved scores on the course!
As I write my first installment of the President’s message, I reminisce how lucky I am to be a member of East Aurora Country Club. Our family had the opportunity to grow up at this fantastic club. Over the years, we have had the pleasure to meet and interact with so many wonderful people, play the finest maintained golf course in WNY, and now enjoy this newly renovated clubhouse and patio.
I am thrilled and honored to take on the role of President for 2024. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing board members, Sean Schoenborn, Eric Burghardt, and President Dan Flaherty, for their invaluable guidance and stewardship of our beloved club. A warm welcome goes out to our new incoming board members, Matt Hasselback, Jay Rimes, and Jayce Wallace, whose commitment to shaping the future of EACC is greatly appreciated.
Looking ahead to 2024, several key priorities have been identified. The clubhouse’s air conditioning will be replaced in January, ensuring a more comfortable environment for everyone. Additionally, we’re investing in new roofs for our cart barn and Pro Shop, as well as a fresh paint job for the Pro Shop. We’re also in discussions to transform the current tennis facility into a newly renovated permanent Pickleball area, potentially featuring six courts. Our plans also include a systematic replacement of cart paths to enhance the overall member experience.
EACC holds a special place in my heart, and my aspiration is for each of you to share that sentiment. I encourage everyone to engage, share suggestions, propose ideas, and consider joining a committee. This is our club, and let’s make the most of the upcoming year by fostering enjoyment and camaraderie!
