IJM Update

The old adage is April showers bring May flowers. By my accounting, we should have some awesome
flowers this month! Those late February/early March days in the 70s always tease us into think we will have an
early Spring. One of these years….
I can finally say this—the IJM is next month. This month brings the first official IJM event to the club. On
Saturday, May 4, we will hold the local qualifying event for the IJM. This year’s event will be relatively small
and the 1st Tee will be closed for approximately one hour. This will be in the noon timeframe. Please pay
attention to the notices from the Golf Shop this week.
As mentioned above, this is the local qualifier. Our field is filling out very well and we have players
coming in from more spots than ever. To date, we have commitments from Australia, China, Taiwan, Thailand,
Colombia, Peru, Chile, Mexico, Germany, UK, Canada and Puerto Rico. Within the US, players will be coming
from Washington, Texas, Florida, Virginia, New Jersey, Hawaii, Arkansas, Ohio and Connecticut. We are excited
about the field and look forward to a great show.
We still have room for a few sponsors and Ham Am slots although they are moving somewhat quickly.

Also, at the end of the month, the signup sheets for spotters will be posted in the Golf Shop. Please be on
the lookout for that and thanks to all in advance for your assistance in that area.
