IJM Update
April 2024
Well, what a difference a month makes! In March, EACC opened for play earlier than anyone can
remember. Many members got a head start on the 2024 golf season and things were looking up. Now, there is a
fresh blanket of snow on the fairways of EACC and golf is on hold for a bit. “Springtime” in WNY at its best!
As we prepare for the restart of the golf season and eclipse viewing, the IJM committees have been
working to put together this year’s tournament. Paul O’Brien and his group have been very hard at work
putting together a competitive field. Applications are still coming in and we are ahead of pace from prior years.
Further, we are expecting players from more countries than ever. The 2024 field looks very strong and deep.
With the expansion of juniors from outside the US comes the need for housing. Based upon initial
requests, it appears as if we will have an increased demand for member provided housing. We will be looking
for additional assistance in this area I am certain.
The tournament is only three months away but we are still looking for help so if you have some interest
in getting involved, please see me, Paul O’Brien or Frank Ziolkowski to learn how you can help.
Finally, I would like to welcome Brittany Helinski to the fold. We look forward to working with her in
planning the food and beverage portion of the IJM. That is a thing that many of the returning players look
forward to.
