As I write this, we are exactly two months away from the start of this year’s IJM. Things are really taking shape for the tournament. Our field is just about complete and we once again have a very impressive group of junior golfers—boys and girls.
Countries represented are US, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, China, Thailand, Dominican Republic and Sri Lanka. Within the US we have players coming from Washington, Arizona, Michigan, Ohio, Iowa, Florida and of course New York.
The only spots remaining in the field are those reserved for our qualifiers. Which brings me to our IJM Qualifier to be held on May 6 at 12:30. Expect the first tee to be closed from 12:15 until approximately 2:00. The golf shop will be sending reminders out during the week to keep everyone in the loop.
For those interested in helping out during tournament week—scorers, spotters, hospitality, etc., the signup sheets for spotters will go up in the Golf Shop after Memorial Day. Please reach out to me if you have any interest in assisting with scoring. If you have interest in helping with hospitality during the week, please reach out to Mary Kamien as the Women’s Board organizes those efforts.
The June update will include the schedule for tournament week.
Hope everyone gets an opportunity to enjoy the golf course and the new clubhouse this month—weather permitting of course!
