Fall golf was a little hit or miss during October as we saw stretches of ideal fall weather, however, we also had stretches that made it seem like winter was just around the corner. Thankfully, we were able to get in our last batch of events without issue. Cross Country, one of the more popular events of the year, took place on Saturday the 1st.

The field sold out in about half an hour and without a doubt, all the players enjoyed their day traversing the golf course in a unique fashion. Matt & Gretchen Hasselback teamed up with Sean & Sue Schoenborn to navigate the challenging layout and ultimately tally the best score. Congratulations!

The following Saturday we hosted the Keiser, our annual fall scratch golf tournament. Keep your eye out for this in the future as participation has doubled in size and the buzz surrounding the format is real. The two player teams play an alternate shot format that certainly challenges their skill and strategy. The weather was not their friend. A rainy and blustery day for sure. Dave LeFebre & Cory Cullen fired a four over par 75 to win on a chilly and windy day.

Our final event of the season was the historic SWAT where players show up and get paired randomly. Everyone then goes out and plays a scramble with their impromptu team. The event gives participants a chance to play with members they might not typically play with. This year’s winning team consisted of Matt Hasselback, Jim Johnson & Ed Thompson with 64, three shots better than the second place team.

Members, you still have the opportunity to spend any credit you may still have on your credit book. Whether you haven’t had the chance to stop by or simply forgot, there is plenty of inventory left in the shop.

If you haven’t retrieved your clubs or push carts from the cart barn, please do so ASAP. The cart barn is used as important storage for Drew and his staff’s equipment, and they need all available space.
