We hosted the International Junior Masters Local Qualifier event on Saturday, May 6th which filled the final four spots in the IJM. Our own Adam Cichowski fired the low round that day with 76 to earn a place in the field.
We hosted the Ada Makenzie women’s match play event early in the month. Some of the best Senior golfers from the state of New York faced off against the best from Canada in the annual match play event. Our New York ladies took care of business and won for the first time in 25 years against the Canadiens. Our own Kim Kaul was a part of the winning effort.
Our ABC/Directors Cup qualifying has been taking place throughout the course of the month and the field is beginning to take form. We also have had a number of PGA Junior League matches and while the results haven’t gone our way, we’re proud of the way our team continues to grow and improve. It has been a blast to bring a new generation of golfers into the fold here at the club.
The Lobster Stag sold out as quick as it ever has and the field had a chilly, but worthwhile day on the links full of camaraderie and good food. Our overall champions were Dean Smith, Jeff Rosser, Dick Blaszkiewicz, and Alan Murzynowski. They had a score of 112 which bested the field by four shots. Our top team in the Established Flight consisted of John Crook, Harrison Crook, Rob Romano, and Tim Falkner who fired a 116. Our Unestablished Flight was captured by Eric Schnirel, Jacob Reisdorf, James Ryan, and Brian Turner with a score of 118.
