EACC Proud Picklers: March 2024

Mar 1, 2024 | Newsletter, Proud Picklers

Hello Proud Picklers and hopefully this finds you and finds you well. The Groundhog appears to be right based upon late February weather. 70 degrees in February??

The contractor who will be redoing our facility and informed Drew that construction will be starting sooner rather than later. Fantastic news!! I cannot begin to thank our Board of Directors and Drew enough for their dedication in making this dream a reality.

Joe Jackson and I will be leading the Grounds committee and working to ensure a 1st class Pickleball experience for everyone at the club. Now it’s up to us the OG Pickleball group (OG is original gangsters for all those who don’t have children or grandchildren of a certain age) to create a program that is inclusive for all members and enhances the social experience that we all adore about being members at EACC.

Some quick thoughts and ideas I have and have received from some of you:
• Clinics for beginners and those who want to improve
• Social events similar to our Nine and Dine. Skill would not matter but fun and frivolity would be the goal
• In addition to Monday morning and Thursday afternoon more scheduled time for open play
• I know parking is a challenge but I have no doubt Drew will find a creative solution to help with that but it’s one step at a time
• I’d also like to find a way to offer some shirts and other apparel for purchase either through the Pro Shop or maybe even to start an online store.

I hope you’re as excited as I am and I’m sure there will be some growing pains and challenges but if we would together with Drew, the Grounds committee and each other we can turn our dream into a reality. Thanks
