It’s hard to believe that July is already here! The golf course is in great condition and it’s about to get better. The bunker renovation project is scheduled to be completed later this summer. The Clubhouse is complete, and the improvements have been warmly received by the membership. We are in the process of closing out the project documentation and reconciliation of the final costs. The Board will then move forward with updating the EACC Long Range Plan.
June was a busy golf month with the Tulip Tournament, Senior Club Championships, and the International Junior Masters. Congratulations to Ann Woloszynski and Paul O’Brian, who fired a 73 in the final round to be named the Senior Golf Champions of the year. Additionally, it should be noted that the EACC Women’s team defended their Buffalo District Interclub Team Championship for the 3rd consecutive year. Congratulations Ladies! Finally, a thank-you to the IJM Committee led by Jeff Kamien, Paul O’Brien, and Frank Ziolkowski and all the members who volunteered to make this event one of the premier junior golf tournaments in the country.
We welcomed Chef Matt Prochnow to our team in early June. He is working on getting the kitchen organized and revising the menu based on feedback received from our members. Eric Kanner and Amanda Turnquist have worked tirelessly to keep things together considering all the changes that have occurred in the back of the house. They have had to navigate kitchen staff changes, illness, and are actively trying to fill open positions in a difficult job market, during our busiest time of the year. I fully understand the frustration felt by our members; however, I would ask for your patience and courtesy when dealing with our staff. Any concerns you may have can be directed to myself or any Board member.
Thank you to all our members who have served our country in military service. It is because of your selfless sacrifice that we can enjoy all the freedoms of this great nation. Happy 4th of July and God Bless America!
