Happy New Year! 2022 offered a glimpse into the future and of all the exciting things that will be happening at the club, with the completion of the South Patio and front nine bunker renovation. Past President Sean Sullivan’s vision, planning and tireless efforts will begin to be realized this year. It was a pleasure working him and as you will see this spring when you walk into the clubhouse, we owe him a debt of gratitude for his work.
The clubhouse renovations are well underway. Unfortunately, as you are aware, during the Blizzard of 2022 the clubhouse lost power which resulted in pipes bursting in the bar and south porch dining areas. This was unfortunate; however, it has allowed for additional work to be completed on the HVAC system to make it more efficient. I would like to thank Bryan Smith, Dennis Woloszynski, along with Co-General Manager Drew Thompson for their efforts to gain access to the building, during the storm, and mitigate additional damage. Additionally, thank you to the construction implementation committee of Eric Burghardt, Mark Melas, Bryan Smith, and Dennis Woloszynski who have been working closely with Jeff Rosser of Lemur Construction on this extraordinary project.
The Board convened the first meeting of the year last week. David Jones reported that membership demand remains strong and anticipates a full club of 300 members this season. Drew Thompson indicated the back nine bunker renovation approval has been released to the contactor, with the schedule to be determined. Members of the House Committee have been working with Eric Kanner to implement exciting changes to the house and dining experience. We are reviewing how we communicate with our members, including the newsletter and updated club website under the direction of Matt Hasselback. The Long-Range Plan will be updated with member input.
I am honored to serve as president this year and look forward to working with our excellent Management Team, talented Board of Directors, Committee Members and Staff.
