On Saturday, March 11th, 2017, EACC held an open meeting with the membership to review the new Master Plan for our course developed in 2016 by Ian Andrew Golf Design, Inc. The following video was taken of the meeting, including Ian’s presentation and the questions and answers that followed.
As background, Ian Andrew was selected based on his extensive experience in renovating many great courses throughout North America. Ian has nearly 30 years of experience in golf course design and restoration, and is a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects. He has earned a reputation for being dedicated to bringing back old fashion hand crafted features that bring a high level of excellence to golf course renovation and restoration projects.
Ian expressed that EACC has the most unique landscape and property of any golf course in Western New York. The plan addresses numerous improvements, including the placement of several new forward tees to improve playability for higher handicap golfers, and selective tree removals. The tree removals will have a positive impact on greater turf health, a healthy mix of tree species and a program for tree replanting. Ian’s recommendations will support making it fun and comfortable for more golfers, while highlighting the beautiful views found throughout our golf course.
This process has only just begun and as with any plan, will take multiple years to complete. Input and involvement by the Membership is welcomed.
